With the club's other two top ten draft picks on the sidelines with injuries, the last thing the Blues needed was their number 12 pick Charlie Curnow to be on the sidelines.

Curnow was recently diagnosed with glandular fever and is expected to miss a large chunk of the season as he looks to recover from the illness.

Number one draft pick Jacob Weitering is doubtful for this weekend's game against Collingwood after injuring his shoulder against the Bombers yesterday and number ten draft pick Harry McKay has yet to play a game this season, is recovering from stress fractures in his back.

Curnow has returned home to Bellbrae to recover from the illness.
