Carlton coach Brendon Bolton won't be drawn on whether Jack Silvagni will become a third generation Blues player when they face St Kilda on Sunday.

The 18-year-old - the son of club champion Stephen and grandson of Blues legend Serge - has been named on the extended bench.

Bolton says he won't make a decision on whether Silvagni will make his AFL debut until the completion of their final training session on Friday.
